Frequently Asked Questions
HOW MANY LESSONS WILL I NEED?
During our first lesson together, your skill level will be assessed and any areas which may need improvement will be identified.
Then we can talk about how many lessons you may need.
CAN I DO LESSONS WITH YOU IN MY CAR?
No. Insurance only covers lessons in my car. Also, it has dual controls, so lessons are safer and easier.
WHAT SORT OF CAR WILL I BE DRIVING?
A 2022 Toyota Corolla. Modern, easy to drive, safe and comfortable.
WHAT IF I CRASH THE CAR?
Don’t worry, you are in good hands. Instructing full time since 2006 and no serious incidents.
But if something does happen, with comprehensive insurance – you won’t have to pay a thing.
DO VICROADS SUPPLY A CAR FOR MY LICENCE TEST?
No. Most learners use my car, but you can take your own. It must be in roadworthy condition and the handbrake must be between the front seats.
CAN I USE A LOG BOOK?
Most learners log their driving on the "myLearners" app. Dowload it on your smart phone.
Paper log books are available at VicRoads. If you are using a log book, it must be at an acceptable standard or you will be unable to do your licence test. Bring it on lessons so it can be checked and filled in.
WHAT IS THE HAZARD PERCEPTION TEST?
Upon reaching 17 years and 11 months of age, you may do the hazard perception test. It is a computer based interactive video presentation. You may do it at the VicRoads office or online via the VicRoads website. You will be shown video footage of different driving scenarios on a computer. You are required to click on the mouse button to perform the “nominated action” at the appropriate time. You must pass the hazard perception test before you will be allowed to do your licence test. It is valid for one year upon completion.
